Kia Unveils the Look of the EV4 Ahead of Its Premiere

Although Kia announced the official launch of its fully electric EV4 series for February 27 at the Kia EV Day event in Spain, the company has already revealed its design ahead of schedule. Available in both sedan and hatchback versions, the new model stays remarkably true to the original concept while retaining a bold and unconventional design.

Distinctive Front End and Two Different Approaches

Regardless of the body style, the EV4 shares the same distinctive front design. The vertically positioned headlights and LED daytime running lights that extend upward toward the hood give it a futuristic appearance. The lower grille is tinted, further emphasizing its sharp and modern style.

A Sedan Inspired by Super Sports Cars?

One of the most interesting features of the EV4 is the side profile of the sedan. Kia clearly draws inspiration from legendary super sports cars by employing a “long tail” design—with a sloping rear window and an elongated rear section. This, together with the panoramic glass roof and tinted C-pillars, creates a unique silhouette that has never been seen before in a Kia.

On the other hand, the EV4 hatchback sports a dynamic look with a more conventional rear end. Instead of the elongated “long tail” design, the five-door version features a shorter, more sharply cut rear window and a more compact body. The differences are also evident in the tail lights – the sedan has vertically arranged taillights, whereas the hatchback uses an impressive LED signature with a horizontal light strip.

More Aggressive GT-Line and What’s Next

Both body styles will be available in a sporty GT-Line version, which will include unique 19-inch wheels and redesigned bumpers for an even more aggressive look. Kia has not yet released any interior photos, but the EV4 is expected to follow the design language of other Kia EV models, featuring a wide panel that integrates the digital instrument cluster with the multimedia system.

According to Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Design at Kia:

“The Kia EV4 is a clear reflection of our commitment to rethinking mobility and pushing the boundaries of what design can achieve. By offering both sedan and hatchback variants, we are providing our customers with a unique combination of modernity and practicality that defines the Kia EV family.”

With its distinctive style and two different body options, the Kia EV4 becomes yet another intriguing option in the ever-growing lineup of the brand’s electric vehicles. It remains to be seen whether its performance and price will live up to its impressive design.
